Legends & Stars Charity Match 2018

Saturday, September 15th, 2018 - Legends & Stars 2018
In support of BC Children's Hospital, casts from Riverdale, Once Upon A Time, iZombie, and The 100, along with Whitecaps alumni including CMFSC Technical Director, Alfredo Valente, came together in a friendly match on Saturday, September 15th at BC Place.
All of the participants were split between two teams, the Rain and the Unity. Joining Valente on team Unity were recent NHL retiree's Daniel and Henrik Sedin, and Whitecaps alumni favourite, Jay DeMerit. At the final whistle, team Unity defeated team Rain 4-2. Providing the scoring for Unity were Colin O'Donoghue from Once Upon A Time (x2) and Whitecaps Alumnus/CMFSC Technical Director Alfredo Valente, in addition to an own goal. Rain's goal scorers were Rob Raco from Riverdale and Robert Buckley from iZombie.

*Alfredo played youth soccer for the Metro-Ford Soccer Club. He went on to play for the Provincial Team, on the U/17 National Team, the U/20 National Team,
and was a member of the 2000 Canadian Olympic team. Professionally, Alfredo played for the Edmonton Drillers of the MISL and then from 1998 to 2008
played for the Vancouver Whitecaps. In 1998 he was selected Rookie of the Year and currently ranked second in all time assists for the club.
