Field Training Map 2021-2022

Please review the Training Guide for more information.

With many changes for this year's start of the season, we ask that ALL CMF Members review the information below. This is subject to amendments as we adapt to an ever changing situation.

SCHEDULES

  • All training schedules can be found above.

CANCELLING A PRACTICE

  • If you need to cancel a practice due to weather, availability, etc. please notify your team immediately and update your TeamSnap account.

TEAMS

  • There is no transition time between practices. Teams must be off the field right at the end of their practice time (not just starting to clean up).
    • If your practice is from 6pm -7pm, that means you cannot enter the field until 6pm and you must be off the field promptly at 7pm - not starting to pickup equipment.
    • PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL OF EVERYONE USING THE FIELD.

PLAYERS

  • Only fully registered players are allowed to train with their team. Anyone not registered should contact Member Services.
  • Players should complete their Attendance on TeamSnap before each training.
  • Players are not to share any personal items with other players (water, snacks, mask, etc)
  • Players should bring to every practice in a soccer bag:
    • Water bottle
    • Weather appropriate clothing (jacket, gloves, toque)

COACHES/TEAM OFFICIALS

  • Club Curriculum is available for all U8 - U18 teams here. Contact Member Services if you require the password.
  • Coaches are required to bring their Club equipment for practices (balls, cones, pinnies, first aid kit).
    • Equipment is distributed prior to the start of the season. Please contact the Equipment Coordinator if you require anything.
  • Managers should ensure the TeamSnap attendance is correct for each activity.

FIELD TRAINING LOCATION

  • When needed, teams have been issued a space on their training field with a letter (A - F). View the TRAINING FIELD MAP for location
    • If your team doesn't have a letter, please find your own space on the field.
  • On fields where there are two teams, the field will be equally split in half down the middle.
  • On fields where there are three teams, the field will be split into a half and two quarters.
    • If there are three U13 - U18 teams, the three teams will alternate with who has the half field. Please refer to the template pattern for rotation.
    • If there are two U13 - U18 teams and one U8 - U12 team, the U8 - U12 team will always be on the quarter field and the U13 - U18 teams will alternate using the full half of the field.
  • On fields where there are four teams, the field will be equally split into four quarters.
  • On fields where there are six teams, the field will be equally split into sixths.
  • On fields where there are eight teams, the field will be equally split into eighths.

ALL WEATHER FIELD LIGHTS

Lights can be located at all of the all weather fields. They are on pre-set timers, but you may be required to activate them by pressing the main power button. If you are the last user on the field, please turn the lights off as you leave.

Porter:
Along the MacIntosh St side of the gravel field, there is a large green electrical box. There is a large red button to press to turn the lights on and off.

Riverview:
Between the baseball diamond and the playground, there are two large green electrical boxes. Between them, there is a sign for a button that turns on/off the lights.

Robson:
The button to turn on the lights is on the washroom building, located between the parking lot and the field. On the side of that building that faces the playground there is an on and off button right on it that you use. There is a water fountain right beside it.

If the lights do not turn on and it is dark, please contact Member Services

  • U13 - U18 Metro, Division 1 - 3 Schedules
  • Please view the Game Schedules tab for more information.

PRE-GAME DAY

  • Home and Away teams are to connect the Wednesday before the game to confirm game time, game location, and uniform colour. This will avoid any miscommunications and possible errors in the schedule.

GAME DAY

  • Pre-Game
    • The home team team officials should be prepared to arrive extra early for the game to setup the field.
GRASS FIELDS: Moving goals into place, attaching nets, and putting corner flags into place (all grass fields will be lined in advance).
TURF FIELDS: Moving goals into place and putting corner flags into place.
    • Coaches should plan to have their team arrive to the game roughly 30 - 45 minutes prior to kick-off to allow for ample time for a proper warm-up and pre-game discussion. Depending on the scheduled field, teams might have to warm-up in surrounding areas.
    • The home and away team are to set up on one side of the field while ALL spectators are to remain on the other side. If you are playing on turf, all spectators must remain outside the fenced area. Teams may set up team benches or tents if space allows.
    • Coach/manager should bring soccer balls, cones, pinnies, an extra uniform, first-aid kit, and a blue lock key. U11 + teams are required to also bring their team roster and team ID cards.
    • Players should bring their own soccer bag with a water bottle, both jerseys, a mask, and hand sanitizer. Optional: own goalie gloves, rain jacket, toque.
    • The referee will check in both teams and check for proper equipment including cleats, shin-guards and uniforms. Absolutely no jewelry is permitted unless it is for medical or religious purposes. Earrings must be removed in all instances.
    • Referees are paid directly by the Club.
    • A team captain from each team will meet the referee at the centre of the field for the coin toss.
  • During the Game
    • Coaches should have a pre-set line-up with the intention to play all players as equally as possible during the game.
    • Substitutions will be permitted during the game when the ball leaves the field of play.
    • Players that are not playing, should be sitting and watching the game on the team bench or in a designated area.
    • Coaches are to stay on their designated side of the field and not to cross the centre line.
*U8 team coaches are able to be on the field to help teams until the December break.
*U8 - U9 teams may have one coach behind the goal to help the goalkeeper. They are not to coach the entire team, only the goalie.
  • Post Game
    • Teams can do a cheer and clap for the other team and referee.
    • Make sure to retrieve your player ID cards from the referee (U11+ teams).
    • If your team is the last game of the day (you don't see any other teams), all field equipment must be returned to the storage bins and locked up.

AWAY GAMES

Always act with respect and integrity at another team's field. Check in with the other team to see if they have any other protocols in place that you might need to follow (parking, etc).
