CMFSC Adaptive Programs
Coquitlam Metro-Ford Soccer Club is pleased to offer an adaptive soccer program to provide children with tools to strengthen their physical literacy, well-being and love for soccer. The program is offered to girls and boys, ages 6-13 and is suitable for all individuals who are unable to play in mainstream soccer. All youth with special abilities are welcomed to participate.
The program will encompass opportunities to:
- Develop confidence on and off the field
- Be a part of a team environment
- Physical wellness
- Enthusiastic and passionate coaches
- Quality instruction
- Most importantly fun!

Who should register? Players with mobility impairments, sensory processing issues, communication difficulties, developmental delays, and other disabilities that may affect their ability to participate in traditional programs.

Meet Melissa Mobilio - Adaptive Soccer Program Head Coach:
Melissa is a long-time CMFSC player and coach. In her youth career she also played with the BC Soccer Provincial Team and went onto play at Trinity Western University as a two-time National Champion and 2011 All-Canadian. As a coach, Melissa has both been an assistant and head coach within the BC Soccer Premier League. She also coaches for CMF's Academies, Initiation Program, and Spring/Summer Camps. Outside of CMFSC, Melissa has worked with CAN (Canucks Autism Network) as support worker, providing individualized support to program participants and encouragement to engage in new activities. Melissa also previously worked as a Behavior Interventionist specifically with children with autism or other developmental disabilities to help develop social skills, improve their ability to learn in school, and eliminate or reduce negative or disruptive behaviours. Today, Melissa is currently working as a Skill Development teacher in an elementary school. Her role involves developing and implanting programs that meet the needs of students in grades K to 5 with moderate to profound intellectual disabilities, autism and multiple disabilities. Students receive instructional support in the development of communication skills, cognitive/academic skills, fine and gross motor skills, self-care, life skills and socialization skills.
