CMFSC & The Responsible Coaching Movement

Posted on: February 3, 2020

Coquitlam Metro-Ford Soccer Club is focused on keeping sport a safe place for everyone involved. As part of the pledge to the Responsible Coaching Movement, CMFSC agreed to require all volunteers to complete Respect in Sport: Activity Leader training. As volunteers in the community, it is important to understand the impact and responsibility a leader has today. Ethics training prepares volunteers to effectively handle challenges that may arise day to day. Volunteers should feel empowered to recognize and prevent bullying, abuse, harassment and discrimination.

We are pleased to announce that over 900 CMF coaches, assistant coaches, managers, and Club staff have completed the Respect in Sport: Activity Leader training to date!

As a parent or family member of a player in the Club, we also encourage you to complete the Respect in Sport for Parents training program. The Respect in Sport Parent Program empowers parents to ensure the safety of their children, encourage positive and effective communication, and to enhance a child's fun and camaraderie in any activity. The course is $12 and can accessed here
