Though it's been a long time coming, the Canadian Premier League is now charging towards opening day, set for April 2019. The league will consist of seven Clubs: Calvary FC (Calgary), FC Edmonton (Edmonton), Forge FC (Hamilton), HFX Wanderers FC (Halifax), Pacific FC (Langford), Valour FC (Winnipeg), and York 9 FC (York Region).
British Columbia's team, Pacific FC, based on Vancouver Island in Langford, hopes to build a Club in the image of the ocean and the island itself; 'attractive, rugged and bubbling with energy of an incoming wave.' Today, Thursday, November 29th, 2018, the Club revealed its first player signing, Kadin Chung.
Hailing from Port Coquitlam, as a player, Kadin was raised with Coquitlam Metro-Ford Soccer Club starting early at the age of six. Through hard-work and dedication, Kadin eventually joined the Vancouver Whitecaps Residency Program in 2011, making numerous appearances with their U-16 and U-18 teams. Chung spent the 2016 and 2017 seasons playing with the Whitecaps FC 2 team, until February of this year, he signed with FC Kaiserslautern II.
At only 20 years old, Kadin has already achieved amazing feats, but now he has the honour of being the first player signed to Pacific FC and the opportunity to a hometown BC crowd. As a top Canadian prospect, Kadin has a bright future ahead, and we hope the best for his career.
