CMFSC Remembers John Verones

We are sorry to share the news of the passing of John Verones on September 15, 2020. 

John was a long time member and past coach with Coquitlam Metro-Ford Soccer Club. He coached both of his sons youth teams from 2002 to 2008, until becoming their number one supported at the select and BCSPL level. He also helped out with his daughter's teams in any way they needed. John was passionate about the game of soccer.  He coached with integrity and ensured that every player felt valued. He was a great leader and mentor. 

John also assisted in the initial years of the organization of the Domenic Mobilio Friendship Jamboree from 2005 - 2007. He set up nets, lined fields (often in the snow), distributed tournament t-shirts, organized and ran concession. He was always one of the last ones to leave, ensuring that there were no more tasks to take care of as the tournament ended, doing whatever was needed to make sure the jamboree was a positive experience for all that attended. 

John will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife Lesia, son Eddie, son Jordan, and daughter Marina.  He was greatly loved and will be missed beyond words.
