CMFSC Class of 2021

Twenty-one players for the Coquitlam Metro-Ford Soccer Club have signed on to compete in postsecondary competition at campuses from coast to coast in Canada and into the US.

Three players are heading east to join their teams. Nova Scotia bound are boy’s midfielder Michael Osorio and girl’s forward Madeleine Burkett. Osorio joins the Acadia University Axemen and Burkett with the Dalhousie Tigers, both challenging for Atlantic titles. Heading to Ontario is boy’s midfielder Anthony White who will join consistent national contender, the University of Toronto Varsity Blues.

Travelling across the provincial border into Alberta is girl’s midfielder Kerris Houston to join in with the University of Calgary Dinos. Travelling into the US based leagues is defender Marica Miljanovic to the University of Montevallo. The NCAA Division 2 program campus is located in a suburb around the major college hub of Birmingham, Alabama.

Multiple British Columbia campuses in the Pacific Division of the Canada West U-Sports league will be the new homes to club players. Centre-back Sophia Ferreira will move into to the westside competing for titles with the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds. Taking the trip along Highway #1 to join the University of Fraser Valley Cascades team is girl’s team midfielder Avery Tulloch and forward Neve Hayes. Boy’s team striker Francis Powell and girls team goalkeeper Kelsey Eckert will move to a consistent title contender in the Spartans program at Trinity Western University. Travelling up the Coquihalla Highway to Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops is girls team defender Madeleine Trozzo and midfielder Jamie Vanstone.

Moving up the mountain to the Simon Fraser campus to play in NCAA Division 2 competition are midfielders Emma Ferraro and Kaya Crescenzo.

Midfielders Jessica Caravatta and Tiana Gomes will take their talents to the North Shore to compete for the Capilano University Blues in the CCAA leagues. Joining in CCAA play across town at the Langara College campus will be the metro team members of Kiki Bowen, Cassidy Kwan, and Nicole Jang. Keeping closer to their home fields at Town Centre with the Douglas College Royals will be boy’s team goalkeeper Benoit Lutz and girl’s team member Mika Hagiwara.
