Celebrating the Remarkable Impact of Dale Mitchell with CMFSC
It is with mixed emotions that we announce Dale Mitchell will be stepping away from his longstanding and esteemed role as CMFSC’s BCSPL Technical Director.
After an incredible playing and coaching career, CMFSC is honoured to have been a part of Dale’s journey and continued impact to the soccer community. For the last 14 years, our club has witnessed triumphs, championships, and unforgettable moments. His dedication to excellence has not only cultivated a culture of high performance but has also instilled invaluable lessons of teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
Beyond his achievements on the pitch, Dale's impact extends far beyond the realm of soccer. He has been a mentor, a role model, and a friend to many within our club and community. His genuine care has left an indelible mark on all who have had the privilege of working with him.
As Dale embarks on this new chapter of his life, we reflect with gratitude on the legacy he leaves behind that will continue to inspire CMFSC.
Club Restructure
We excited to announce some exciting restructuring to our Club technical staff. We see this as a better way to serve our players and community.
Technical Director, Alfredo Valente will transition to role of Director of Football. In this comprehensive technical leadership position, Alfredo will spearhead the alignment of a unified vision across all Club programming. With nearly two decades of dedicated service to CMFSC, Alfredo is an indispensable member of our community, uniquely qualified for this pivotal role.
As part of these changes, we are pleased to announce updates to the roles of two dedicated members of our technical staff – Liam Carter and Andrea Maloney. Both will be transitioning from their positions as Program Head Coaches to assume the roles of Technical Directors, to serve, support, and continue the development of both the Boys and Girls programs.
In his expanded capacity as Technical Director, Liam Carter will also take on the responsibility of overseeing the operations of camps and academies, and further explore innovative adjustments to our programming to better align with the future vision of CMFSC.
In an exciting development for CMFSC, Carlo Basso, a longstanding member of our community as both a youth and adult player, as well as a BCSPL coach, will be taking on a new role as Assistant Technical Director of BCSPL. In this capacity, Carlo will provide invaluable support to Alfredo Valente in the management and oversight of our BCSPL program. Carlo will balance this new role with his existing role as a coach with the BCSPL and as the Simon Fraser Red Leafs women’s soccer Head Coach as well.
