CMF Challenge Series - PENALTY SHOTS

COQUITLAM METRO-FORD SOCCER CLUB CHALLENGE SERIES
The Coquitlam Metro-Ford Soccer Club is pleased to announce a Soccer Challenge Series for all U8 – U18 Teams. Each week, teams will be provided a challenge to complete. Let players know about each challenge prior to the week so that they can practice at home each skill.
WEEK 1 – PENALTY SHOT SPOT
Coaches will set up a ‘penalty shot spot’ (roughly 12 yards out from a goal – this can be adjusted based on player age and goal size). Coaches will select a goalie for the competition, either a designated team goalie or a coach. If the goalie is a player on the team, they will have their turn to take a shot against either another player or a coach. The competition will run in rounds with each eligible shooter taking one shot in each round. Each player will take their turn to shoot on goal. If they score, they proceed to the next round. If they miss, they are eliminated from the competition. The rounds proceed as long as there are at least two players remaining in each round. If no player scores in a round, then all players take a second shot in that round. The winner is declared when only one player scores in a round.
