FINANCE MANAGER – PART-TIME – REMOTE

Founded by passionate soccer enthusiasts, Coquitlam Metro-Ford Soccer Club (CMFSC) has grown from a single team to one of the largest and most successful clubs in the province. Since merging with a community club in 2007, CMFSC offers top-tier recreational and elite soccer programs for over 4,000 members, from toddlers to adults. With our motto "Soccer for Life!" we inspire lifelong engagement, fostering a community where players give back as coaches, officials, and more, while learning life lessons that shape successful futures.  

We’re excited to add a new ‘player’ to our administrative team! As our club continues to grow, we’re seeking a dynamic, energetic and proactive Finance Manager to join our leadership team. If you're passionate about community, sports, and making a positive impact, we’d love to welcome you to our vibrant, fast-paced soccer club. 

This remote position offers the freedom to tailor your schedule, with occasional evening and weekend hours to meet the dynamic demands of our community-driven non-profit. As a vital part of our leadership team, you'll work directly with the Executive Director and collaborate closely with the Finance Committee of the Board, ensuring the financial well-being and long-term sustainability of our club.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Financial Reporting & Compliance (30%): Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports; manage the annual financial review processes and ensure compliance with provincial, federal, and municipal regulations, including those related to gaming and charitable organizations.
  • Budgeting & Financial Strategy (25%): Collaborate with department heads to develop and manage budgets, analyze financial performance, and provide strategic advice to ensure the club’s long-term financial stability.
  • Financial Systems & Investment Management (20%): Oversee and enhance financial systems, manage investments, and recommend improvements to increase efficiency.
  • Leadership & Team Support (25%): Serve as the financial leader of the organization, fostering a culture of financial responsibility, providing training, and collaborating with leadership on financial strategies while overseeing a bookkeeper and the financial day-to-day activities of the organization.

 What You’ll Bring:

  • CPA Designation: Essential for ensuring compliance and financial best practices.
  • Non-Profit & Gaming Finance Expertise: Knowledge of BC Lotteries and non-profit funding mechanisms is highly preferred.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting Skills: Experience managing complex budgets across multiple departments.
  • Leadership & Communication: Ability to clearly explain financial concepts to both financial and non-financial stakeholders with experience managing staff.
  • Communication & Strategic Agility: Exceptional ability to communicate financial insights and strategies clearly and concisely, tailoring your message to different audiences. As a Finance Manager, you’ll navigate dynamic financial landscapes, making quick, informed decisions that align with long-term goals while addressing immediate challenges
  • Analytical Insight: Strong strategic thinking, with the ability to identify risks and opportunities to help the club thrive.
