What is the 2024 CMFSC Raffle?

For the 2024 – 2025 soccer season, Coquitlam Metro-Ford Soccer Club, in conjunction with its sponsors, its teams and players will be once again undertaking a fundraising raffle in which 24,500 tickets will be produced and sold at a price point of $10.00 per ticket. Our Club’s primary sponsor, Metro Ford has sponsored a 2024 Ford Maverick XL which will be the raffle prize.  We are grateful for the support of Metro Ford for its ongoing support of our Club. 

Why is CMFSC Holding a Raffle?

CMFSC is committed to developing and offering more programs and playing opportunities to support the continued development of its membership and players at all ages and levels of play. As operating costs across all programs continue to escalate, the Club continues to explore methods of generating incremental funds, rather than passing these cost increases directly onto its membership. The fall 2023 raffle generated approximately $118,000 in net revenue that was applied directly to CMFSC programs and expenses. The expectation and goal for the 2024 raffle is to generate $245,000 for the CMFSC’s 2024 – 2025 programs.  

What is the Price of the Raffle Tickets?

Tickets for the 2024 raffle are priced at $10.00 per ticket. (Note that each $50 book has only 5 tickets again this year to sell). Based on the volume of positive feedback we received in 2023, and given the high dollar value of the prize the Club awarded in 2023 and the prize we will award this season, tickets should remain an easy sell. In addition, the raffle tickets represent extremely good value with great odds of winning.  

What is the Raffle Prize?

CMFSC sponsors and suppliers have continued to support the Club in a big way. As such, the major prize for this season’s raffle will include the following: 

  • Raffle Prize - 2024 Ford Maverick XL. Due to the increased value of the vehicle again this year, we will only have one prize. 

Are Team Seller Prizes Being Offered?

Team “Early Bird” Prizes:

Teams have a chance to win “Early Bird” prizes.  The first fifteen (15) teams (5 from each of the Initiation Program, Mini’s and Youth/Adult teams) selling and returning all of their assigned ticket books, monies and control sheet on or before the Sunday, September 22nd deadline (for IP only Tuesday, October 8th for U6 and U7 Boys and Girls teams or Tuesday, October 15th for U4 and 5 players) will win a $200.00 cheque per team.

Also, the first nine (9) teams (3 from the Initiation Program, Mini’s and Youth/Adult teams) which sell the most tickets (availability limited to extra printed tickets) will win $250/$150/$75 for 1st/2nd/3rd place respectively.  Winners will be selected from all of the completed packages returned by their due date of Sunday, September 22nd, (for IP ONLY Tuesday, October 8th for U6 and U7 Boys and Girls teams or Tuesday, October 15th for U4 and 5 players). Winners will be selected prior to the Raffle Draw.

There will also be ten (10) random team draws for $100 gift certificates drawn from all club teams returning theirfully complete raffle packages by the required due date. 

What are the Club’s Expectations of Teams and Individual Players

U8 through U12  will each be assigned @12-16 books of tickets to sell (determined by team player numbers). The U13 Mini’s teams and U14 through U18 teams will be assigned @14-20 books of tickets to sell (determined by team player numbers). The Adult teams will receive @15 books of tickets to sell. Each book contains only 5 raffle tickets,priced at $10.00 per ticket.  Players in the CMFSC Initiation Program will receive approximately one (1) book each per player. Teams and players will have approximately 2-3 weeks to sell their ticket allotment and return the stubs and proceeds. As the funds generated benefit all teams and players, the expectation is that all teams and all players will participate in the ticket sales process. 

What do the Timelines look like:

Ticket sales for the raffle will commence August 19th ending Sunday, September 22nd (for IP ONLY Tuesday, October 8th for U6 and U7 Boys and Girls teams or Tuesday, October 15th for U4 and 5 players). The Raffle concludeswith the draw on Saturday, November 9, 2024.  All ticket books/proceeds must be returned no later than Sunday, September 22nd (IP ONLY Tuesday, October 8th for U6 and U7 Boys and Girls teams or Tuesday, October 15th for U4 and 5 players).

Critical Raffle Dates are as follows:

Monday, August 19th CMFSC Raffle Commences

Sunday,  September 22nd Raffles Closes for Mini, Senior and Adult teams– No further sales can take place for these teams and ALL raffle packages are due returned to the depot.

October 8th  Raffle closes for U6 and U7 players.  No further sales can take place for these teams and ALL raffle packages are due returned to the depot.

October 15th   Raffle closes for U4 and 5 players. No further sales can take place for these teams and ALL raffle packages are due returned to the depot.

Saturday, November 9th   Raffle Draw– at the CMFSC Awards Banquet,  The Hard Rock Casino Vancouver in Coquitlam at @8 pm.
