CMFSC BCSPL Intake Coaches Announcement

Coquitlam Metro-Ford Soccer Club is pleased to announce the selection of our 2022 BCSPL 2010 Intake team Head Coaches, Boys: Carlo Basso and Girls: Giovanni Carida. Both Carlo and Giovanni started out with CMFSC as highly successful youth players and are current technical coaches with the Club.

Carlo has head coached multiple BCSPL teams including the 2004 and 2003 girls, working to promote players to the University level. Carlo also recently took on the position of assistant coach with the SFU women’s team program.  BCSPL Technical Director, Dale Mitchell, had to say of Carlo, “Carlo is an up-and-coming outstanding youth coach. He already has experience as a player, coach, and teacher. We think he will be a great fit for our 2010 boys.”

Giovanni currently coaches with our 2007 Boys BCSPL team and is the U12 Girls Age Group Head Coach. Giovanni is also a notable member of the fundraising group, Sheppy's Sheep, a group dedicated to raising money for Kick for a Cure and the Michael Cuccione Foundation, where all funds raised go towards Childhood Cancer Research at BC Children's Hospital. CMFSC BCSPL Technical Director, Dale Mitchell, had to say, “Gio has been working and volunteering with the younger players in our club for a number of years now. We feel he also knows the BCSPL now as a player and assistant coach. His experience already with the players in this age group will be beneficial in this new role.”
