Coquitlam Metro-Ford Soccer Club Launches Strategic Community Partnerships

Coquitlam Metro-Ford Soccer Club (CMFSC), Gameplan Strategies, and the Coquitlam Express are proud to unveil Evolution Football Group Ltd., a bold new partnership designed to redefine community football.

This first-of-its-kind collaboration merges grassroots tradition, high-performance development, and live sport entertainment into one united vision—anchored in community, inspired by youth, and driven by innovation.

“This is a new business model for community sport,” said Alex Barnetson, President of CMFSC. “We’re aligning community, club, commerce, and sport entertainment to build something truly unique.”

Rooted in CMFSC’s 40-year legacy, the partnership leverages Gameplan Strategies’ commercial expertise and the Coquitlam Express’ event experience to reimagine Friday Nights at Mundy Park—creating a modern, vibrant football showcase for families, fans, and future stars.

“It’s about building a place where youth can play where they stay—with a path to the top,” added Brad Leitch, co-founder of Gameplan Strategies.

Evolution FC Debuts in League1 BC

As a milestone initiative, Evolution FC will make its home debut in League1 BC on May 3 at Town Centre Park – Field #3 (Domenic Mobilio – West), with kick-offs at 2:00 PM (Women) and 4:30 PM (Men). Representing Coquitlam in BC’s top semi-professional league, Evolution FC is a vital step in bridging recreational and elite soccer within the community.

Together, the partners are establishing a scalable model for youth-to-pro development, commercial sustainability, and community-driven football excellence.
